Way behind on my reading, especially for #hashtagbrigade. I thought I‘d get caught up tonight, but my refrigerator had other ideas. The freezer failed so I‘m making soup to use things that were too thawed (and borrowing space in a friend‘s freezer until mine is fixed.) And baking pumpkin bread with the last of the pumpkin purée from last fall. It‘s 92 degrees outside and my house smells like November. ?

Mehso-so

I finished reading this last week and I'm still not sure what I think about it. The characterization of the prime players in the story was excellent. Peri, Skip and Benny were very well positioned. However, the plot ending, especially the denouement - who did the murders and why - fell completely flat. So did the conclusion about why the hands were missing from the corpse, which had NOTHING to do with the deaths!! So why put it in? Meh. ⭐⭐⭐ 🤪

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks It‘s good to see you back! ❤️ 5y
MaGoose @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Thanks, I've been reading, but I have several books going at once and haven't had the chance to finish any except for this one. The next one I'm trying to finish is a nonfiction doorstop of almost 600 pages - it's interesting but a bit slow going. 5y
