Reading this book was like reading a PBS special. I could hear the soothing voiceover of a narrator the entire time haha Going season by season the authors visit different homes in Norway, discussing architecture, history, hobbies, and ways of life. I'm not sure how much this book reflects the majority of Norwegians' lives as it seemed to focus a lot on the artsy types, but the photography was gorgeous & it was all & all an enjoyable #FoodandLit⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) read. I'm fascinated by life so close to the Arctic Circle in terms of daylight & weather & loved reading how the people who live here embrace winter & the long hours of darkness. @Butterfinger @Texreader 3y
Texreader The one time I was there in the winter I realized I was sleepy all the time. I learned I‘m really regulated by the sun! 3y
AnneCecilie @Texreader You get used to the dark, and the long days for that matter. It happens gradually through the seasons. Even if I must confess that I‘m happy that I don‘t live above the polar circle. 3y

Texreader @AnneCecilie The long days are just lovely. Until recently I had chronic insomnia so it was nice to sit in the blue light past midnight. 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Texreader @AnneCecilie - I just don't know how I would do with such short days - I feel like I'm very solar-powered!! My brother was in Alaska for two weeks in the summer when it's daylight 24hrs & said it was very peculiar to basically just live by the clock because the position of the sun didn't tell you much!! 3y
Chrissyreadit That looks like a really fun book! 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Chrissyreadit - I really enjoyed it even though it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. And the photography was lovely. 3y
