I read an excerpt from this every year with my AP Literature class, but hadn't ever read the book. I finally read it, & despite the fact that the excerpt was humorous, the book was fairly uninteresting. I stuck with it, thinking it would get better, but it never really did. The premise was interesting: someone writing a biography about an average person, chronicling their everyday behaviors and interactions. But, it just didn't hold my attention.

MrsMalaprop I have had this on my TBR shelf for years. 6y
CoffeeNBooks @MrsMalaprop Hopefully you'll enjoy it more than I did- I really wanted to like it! 6y

I read an excerpt from this every year with my AP Literature students, but haven't read the book yet even though it's on my bookshelf. I think I'll put it on my September TBR list.

Pickpick

"More than just an offbeat romantic comedy - it's a provocative meditation on the essence of personality and the nature of the biographer's task."
- Michael Upchurch of San Francisco Chronicle
