Didn't even take a pic of this one! Listened to about the first hour on audio. The subject matter was interesting, but the way it was told just didn't work for me. It is told almost like a novel about 2 people, but overtly explaining the science of relationships, etc along the way. I would have much rather the information had been presented in a typical nonfiction way. It came off as very cliche and corny. Couldn't do it

Pretty thought-provoking. A detailed account of a couple‘s lives, birth to old age, Brooks analyzes the cultural and societal influences that help create an individual.

Loved this book, gave me a lot of insight into how my own personality formation took place and how my subconscious informs me.

It's only been 10 pages and I already despise all men. This is going to be interesting.

Alfrido: "David Brooks explains social structure and social habits. He tells it as a story and you can take away useful things like, 'Being the smartest doesn't necessarily mean you're right.' I want to improve but I don't care if I fit in. I'm from a small speck in South America called Suriname. We're not used to talking about ourselves. Here everybody talks about everything. A little bit of privacy keeps things interesting."
