Four teenage girls. Four different stories. What they all have in common is that theyre dealing with unplanned pregnancies. In rural Georgia, Izella is wise beyond her years, but burdened with the responsibility of her older sister, Ola, who has found out shes pregnant. Their young neighbor, Missippi, is also pregnant, but doesnt fully understand the extent of her predicament. When her father sends her to Chicago to give birth, she meets the final narrator, Susan, who is white and the daughter of an anti-choice senator. Randi Pink masterfully weaves four lives into a larger story as timely as ever about a womans right to choose her future.

A heartbreaking novel of four teen girls going through unexpected pregnancy, and their struggles to have their children. I got my second shot yesterday, so I‘m not feeling great. But I hope I get a lot of reading done! 5⭐️

This was both beautiful and heartwrenching. The writing was absolute poetry. Definitely worth the read.

I stumbled on this book while browsing on Libby yesterday and starting reading. I was gripped from the start and 40% in before I even realized it. Set in 1972 before Roe vs Wade, Randi Pink tells the story of four teenage girls whose lives are forever changed by unplanned pregnancies. The last chapter jumps to the present, and the author's note at the end worth reading.
