A Woman's Worth
A Woman's Worth | Marianne Williamson
5 posts | 5 read | 5 to read
With A WOMAN'S WORTH, Marianne Williamson turns her charismatic voice--and the same empowering, spiritually enlightening wisdom that energized her landmark work, A RETURN TO LOVE-- to exploring the crucial role of women in the world today. Drawing deeply and candidly on her own experiences, the author illuminates her thought-provoking positions on such issues as beauty and age, relationships and sex, children and careers, and the reassurance and reassertion of the feminine in a patriarchal society. Cutting across class, race, religion, and gender, A WOMAN'S WORTH speaks powerfully and persuasively to a generation in need of healing, and in search of harmony.

A Woman's Worth | Marianne Williamson

Pain can burn you up and destroy you, or burn you up and redeem you. It can deliver you to an entrenched despair or deliver you to your higher self. At midlife, we decide, consciously or unconsciously, the path of the victim or the path of the Phoenix when it is rising up at last.

Don't judge a (90's) book by its cover. This powerful manifesto is bolstering me this morning in the wake of shocking and devastating news. And it is particularly apropos when even the most qualified and highly endorsed candidate in U.S. history (a woman) was defeated by a racist misogynist. Her worth is defined by so much more than her accomplishments and defeats. #bookandbrew #photoadaynov16

saresmoore @LauraBeth Your comment made me think of this post—three years ago! Thanks for walking virtually through life & books with me. 5y

The release of this book in 1994 was synchronized with the state of my soul that same year. I was 23 years old. Marriage was the buzzword of the day and I was struggling with my disdain for an oppressive institution. This book told me I wasn't crazy, empowering me to be me. A must read for all.

mleawhatley The name of the book is A Woman's Worth, but I chose this Litsy entry because it is more thorough. 8y
