Disturbing and depressing but also rewarding and great.

Very frank depiction of Tanzania down to its gritty and violent details. The value of life seems to mean little when everyone is trying to survive in an atmosphere of corruption and greed. Some graphic details, the author doesn't hold back. But he has a kind of understanding to their plight and doesn't judge them for their actions. A couple meandering stories but I enjoyed the book overall. (8/10)

Tough read but immensely rewarding. Insight into a country/continent without having to feel uninvited.

Almost done with book two of Ejerbo's Africa Trilogy. It came recommended from a fellow book clubber as a vacation read for our trip to Tanzania #partdeuxbookclub
