This was absolutely stunning. It‘s def not a YA paranormal book (as the description might suggest), but rather a beautiful piece of literary fiction. Thankfully, I went in knowing what to expect. A lot of thoughts on memory and history, as well as a bit of a gothic feel to it. I also enjoyed how it got a bit meta with itself. This book is super underrated. #20in4

Michael Knight‘s work always feels a little unfinished to me. I did like this book, though, despite that and the fact that the ending felt rushed. I liked the characters. That was my print book beach reading; I also listened to The Hideaway, which I‘m liking, but as a librarian who used to catalog, I cannot figure out why this book has the subject heading, Christian Fiction. It just seems like general fiction, so far.

I took a trip to Asheville yesterday to see my sister and her family. They live in Tampa but rented a mountain house for her kids‘ spring break and they‘d never seen Asheville before. I‘m always happy to have an excuse to visit Malaprop‘s and since my niece is a big reader, she was thrilled to go as well. This is one of my haul from there.

Lynnsoprano I love Malaprop‘s! We‘re going to be in Asheville for a couple days in June, and I definitely want to stop there. 5y
LeahBergen I have this one stacked! 👍🏻 5y
