2 posts | 1 read
The fate of the beloved school is hanging in the balance... The prestigious boarding school Miss Olivers School for Girls is on the cusp of going under. The trustees just fired the headmistress of the last thirty-five years, and the alumnae and students are angry and determined to hate her successor, the newand malehead Fred Kindler. If only he can gain the support of the legendary senior teacher Francis Plummer, then Fred might have a fighting chance to save the school; but no one except Franciss wife and the school librarian, Peggy, is willing to give Fred a chance. With Freds career on the line and the Plummers marriage at stake, will Miss Olivers survive to be the school it once was?

Mehso-so

I usually enjoy books set in schools a lot but this one about a girls school that is facing going coed or closing and is under the tenure of a new, male headmaster just didn‘t gel for me with almost all the adults unable to see the bigger picture and/or act like actual adults. This is a LibraryThing Early Reviewer book from years ago that I never did receive. I bought it for myself anyway but have never gotten around to reading it and since it was never chosen for #bookspin, I kept passing over it. I decided I shouldn‘t pass over it for another year (or more).
