1 post | 1 read | 1 to read
The shocking truth behind the death of an American iconand the conspiracies that kept it secret for decadesin the best autopsy of Marilyn Monroe (Cyril H. Wecht, MD, JD) In her tragically short life, Marilyn Monroe embodied American womanhood, innocence, and lustboth as a Hollywood star and in the shadows of her tormented soul. But when she was found naked and dead on the morning of August 5, 1962, she became the subject of a mystery that has perplexed the world for generations. Was her death an accident? Suicide? Or murder? In Crypt 33, two Los Angeles private investigators recount the startling evidence that may solve the case once and for all, finally revealing the truth about: Monroes affairs with JFK and Robert Kennedy . . . The identity of the friend who allowed Monroes killers into her home . . . Evidence of the deadly drugs and how they were administered to the starlet . . . The rumors of an assassination plot masterminded by the Cosa Nostra and high-ranking government officials . . . The tangled web of wiretaps in Monroes homeand what happened to the audio tape recording of her murder . . . Now, at last, the truth of Monroes shocking death can be told in a book that makes the hardest case yet that Marilyn was the victim of foul play (Kirkus Reviews). Well and sympathetically told . . . Speriglio and Gregory are fluent, convincing writers. Publishers Weekly

Flo desperately needs some dental work done but our dentist‘s office only just reopened. G is not allowed in so we sent Flo in alone and we‘re hanging in the car.

I haven‘t read many Monroe biographies. Maybe one other. This one is just ok. It‘s interesting but doesn‘t feel special. What a tragic life though—she had a lot to offer the world and didn‘t seem to get much in return.

Birdsong28 I have also read this and it is good 4y
Birdsong28 Also this is a biography about how biographies have shaped our perception of Marilyn. Sorry for spamming you but I did my Dissertation on her and have read a few good books on her. 4y

Reviewsbylola My kids love the dentist. I have absolutely no idea why. 😆 @Cinfhen I suspect it has to do with the prize cabinet but it doesn‘t seem worth it to me! 4y

bio_chem06 Did you read Marylin and Me? 4y
Cinfhen Oh yeah, the Prize Treasure Chest was a HUGE OBSESSION with my kids 🥰I forgot those days 4y
Reviewsbylola No I haven‘t. Do you recommend it? @bio_chem06 4y
bio_chem06 @Reviewsbylola I think it was good enough to recommend if you are interested in her life. The only thing is, a lot of people say it's not a true story, so that made it hard for me. But the truth is, no one really knows and it's the author's truth, so maybe that's all that matters. I don't recommend the movie of this book at all. 4y
