Couldn‘t put it down but ending leaves you wishing she had fleshed out the plot more

I'm thinking my goal is the bottom line because I'm currently reading Homegoing, More Than Words is a bookspin and 7 1/2 Deaths is my March book club book!

I loved Jill‘s book The Light We Lost and was super excited to read this book. It didn‘t disappoint, it held true to her previous book. This one had more of a twist which was lots of fun to unravel, with a great romantic story that still gave way to a strong and independent women finding herself.

Finished this yesterday but have been busy, so forgot to post it. It was ok. I like the family drama and uncovering secrets. I thought it went by pretty quickly. The big reveal was not what I was expecting at all though.

It‘s hard to capture the magic of The Light We Lost again, but Santopolo does have a knack for romances. I just didn‘t fall in love with the characters this time and Nina started to bother me a bit.

This story is a stroll rather than a sprint and, while at first I thought it was too slow, I came to really appreciate it. I enjoyed watching Nina figure out who she wanted to be as she let go of living the way others expected her to. A number of her relationships are left unresolved at the end but there is a sense of her moving forward and hope for richer relationships in her future. I like who she is at the end of this book.

I don't even remember requesting this library hold but it delivered this morning. 😁 I'll start it later today. Hope it's good!

Nina‘s story was masterful. It‘s asks the questions are you being someone else or your true self. Are you brave enough to be the person you are meant to be. Love it.

Disclaimer: I am not a runner but I needed fresh air so I took off towards the lake. It was about 2 miles round trip which left me feeling strong & re-energized.

Really enjoyed this! Has anyone read The Light We Lost?

I‘m taking a break from cozy mysteries and so far it‘s been great. Also love that even though it‘s nearly summer in AU, I live in a place cold enough to enjoy a Christmas quilt with my tree and book!

So far I am loving this light read!

Started off slow but then I couldn‘t put it down. First book by this author and I will try her others.

I really enjoyed reading the author‘s other book, “The Light we Lost” (even though the characters frustrated me at times—just like tv characters do haha) so I figured I‘d give her other book a try :D So far so good😊 This book is as much about various forms of loss, love, and human flaws as it is about self discovery, gaining confidence and reinventing your path. It might still be sad & frustrating but— recomendable. 🤗 I

I don‘t really want to be cheered up, she said. I just...can you stand in the darkness with me? 🖤

I fell into this story quickly and without realizing it. A woman deals with learning her parents were human. Some things are expected of her, and she is not sure what she wants.

Nina works in politics but is destined to take over the family business, a lucrative hospitality corporation in NYC. As her father approaches the end of his life, she is confronted with the truth of what happened in her childhood and has to decide who she wants to be. I liked the quick chapters, crisis of identity, and the attraction to one character. I would have liked the characters more if they hadn't been the 1%.

It‘s not as good as her first one but still good! Need to process though.

Romance is not my go to genre so im not sure why i picked this up. However i am glad i did. It felt authentic and The characters were well written. Nice storyline of a NYC Socialite who loses her Father and uncovers family secrets leaving her trying to figure out who she really is and what she really wants out of life. I enjoyed this one.

Jill Santopolo is so lovely & genuine ☺️ I‘m glad I got to hear her speak tonight about herself and her new book.
I still have her first waiting on my shelf but I couldn‘t pass this one up with it‘s NYC focus... maybe I‘ll “binge” both sometime soon!
