I liked how this was different to the ones before. I am also fascinated how fast I read through the books in this series.

What a ride! I've liked each book so far in the series, but this one stands out.

I have just finished #8 of the Last Kingdom series. I am addicted and cannot focus on any other reads. I really liked this one and I think it may be my favourite … so far. Maybe because there was less violence? Cornwell can tell a tale.

i was depressed because utred has died in the beginning of the book and I lost the will to read, then every thing changed and utred came back to raise my morale.

A few of the books I've really enjoyed reading recently.

Cornwell continues to find inventive situations in which to put his hero, Uhtred, as well as creative ways of getting him out of trouble. You‘d think after the previous 7 novels in the Saxon Stories he‘d run out of ways to write about mid-evil battles and sailing, but he has not. He continues to follow the history of England, taking artistic liberties with how the characters interact with each other. A very enjoyable read for this time period.
