The Light in the Sound
The Light in the Sound | Vanessa Gonzales
1 post | 1 read
The Light in the Sound is the character driven and often comical story of a spirited young woman, Rachel Richardson, who works in a porn shop in Seattle, Washington. Her estranged family lives a thousand miles away and she has a bunch of wretched "friends." She really just wants to be loved, but this isn't a love story. It's about combatting isolation. Rachel is tired of walking through life half asleep--literally and figuratively, because she also suffers from night terrors. Counting on others becomes increasingly difficult, though, because as she attempts to make new connections, familial wounds grow deeper and deceptions multiply. Her sense of disconnection from family, work, and friends grows, resulting in her attempting to cut all ties, turn inward and numb herself emotionally. Ultimately, in the wake of losing everything--yet again--Rachel is forced to discover how many times one person can start over before self-destructing.

Day 6 #TarotTakeover #TheChariot
I struggle with this card so I did its reverse. In the named book the main character uses no control in or over her life. It is a slice of life story, but in the end, she is od no better character in the beginning.

ByChallaF @bookcollecter Each day @ErinSueG pulls a card. You pair it with a book that relates to that cards attributes. 6y
bookcollecter Ok cool! This should be fun...I already do this exercise matching songs to cards but haven't yet tried to sync them with lit 6y
