In for the Kill
In for the Kill | Ed James
3 posts | 1 read | 2 to read
A university student is found strangled to death in her bedroom, but when the embattled DI Simon Fenchurch is called in to investigate, the case strikes dangerously close to home. On the surface, the victim was a popular, high-performing student. But as secret grudges against her emerge, so too does evidence that she was living a double life, working on explicit webcam sites for a seedy London ganglord. Everyone Fenchurch talks to knows a lot more than they're willing to tell, and before long he's making new enemies of his own--threatening to push him and his family past breaking point. With too many suspects and not enough facts, Fenchurch knows his new superiors are just waiting for him to fail--they want him off the case, and off the force for good. His family is in more danger than ever before. So how deep is he willing to dig in order to unearth the truth?

Andrew65 @AmyG First week is always Leary productive as I start some new buddy / Group Reads. By the same token the last week is always the most productive. Got three close to finishing at the moment. I enjoy my sectional reading, gives me time to take them in. 6y
EadieB @Andrew65 I‘m reading 6 books too but haven‘t finished one yet this month! 6y
Andrew65 @EadieB You should finish The Judas Strain tomorrow, then will be an avalanche! 6y
EadieB @Andrew65 yes that‘s what usually happens! Yours will come in like that too! 6y
Andrew65 @EadieB Yes close to finishing 3 books, including two Chunksters, that I should finish in the next 48 hours. 6y
EadieB @andrew65 I‘m close to finishing 3 too. The gentleman is Moscow is an audio. Very slow start but I‘m almost done and it‘s getting really good. I‘m going to listen to it again because I didn‘t really understand what was happening but now it‘s clearer but I feel I lost something and will enjoy it more if I listen again. 6y
Andrew65 @EadieB It is a lovely book! 6y

Pickpick

Finished my first book for October. This is the fourth book in the DI Fenchurch Series. A series that has grown on me more and more as I have got further into the series. Left on rather an interesting point as Fenchurch is about to get a new boss, and this could present him with some challenges. Difficult to say too much more without spoiling the plot of previous books. Enjoy good detective fiction? Then these are well worth a read.

Starting book 4 in the DI Fenchurch Series, trying to get this series up to date before my free Kindle Unlimited trial runs out on 6th October. Still need to read this one and the next one! No pressure 😬😳🙈 Have quite enjoyed this Detective series.
