5 posts | 5 read | 8 to read
You think you can trust the ones you love most. But what if one secret could make you question everything? Every day, a woman like Louise passes you in the street: elegant, confident, determined. But underneath, she's struggling. She doesn't know her sister, Alice, has been scared of leaving the house since their mother died. She doesn't know when Alice babysits her little boy, Archie, he sometimes sees things he shouldn't. She doesn't know Archie has a secret. A secret that could send cracks through the heart of Louise's carefully constructed life... The most gripping psychological thriller you'll read this year from the Kindle top five bestselling author K.L. Slater. If you love The Girl on the Train or Gone Girl, you'll be absolutely hooked. As for the main secret - I did not see that coming! I enjoyed this tremendously. The author kept me guessing all the way through!' Goodreads Reviewer, Five Stars 'Superbly written, unpredictable, and with a fantastic finish... This is what story-telling should be like. Not for once will one be able to guess what's going to happen.' Goodreads Reviewer 'The book did not disappoint, the two main characters - Alice and her nephew Archie - are extremely well written... lovable characters. I can't wait to read another book from this author.' Nicky Reviews, Five Stars 'From the very first page I was captivated... I gobbled up every single word and absolutely flew towards the tense, secret-filled climax that delivered over and over again until I finished the story positively breathless. I am already awaiting the next one with impatient anticipation. ' Angela Marsons, Five Stars 'The shattering conclusions keep coming! Secrets are sure to both shock and surprise! And yet, the twists keep on coming!' NetGalley Reviewer, Five Stars 'I loved getting to know these characters and I found the story very intriguing and mysterious. I really liked not knowing where this story was going until each and every twist was revealed. I was hooked from the start and I highly recommend!' Goodreads Reviewer

This definitely had some fun twists and turns and a lot of tension. I enjoyed the characters and guessing what was happening as the story progressed. I thought this was a pretty solid thriller!

I‘ll be honest, I thought this was going to be boring when I started listening in those first five minutes. But something made me stick with it, and I‘m so glad I did. This had suspense and amazing twists all throughout. All I can say without giving too much away, is that I felt really sorry for the protagonist, Alice.

A suspenseful read that keeps you on your toes with plot twists and undercurrents of sinister secrets. Alice, Archie's Aunt is worried about why he is so scared and what secrets he is keeping. It's way worse than she imagined. Thanks #netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. #thesecret #klslater #bookouture #goodreads #litsy #insta #tea_sipping_bookworm

Mehso-so

Damn shot cut off. Oh well.

I didn't really care much for this one. It was ok but I wouldn't really put it in the thriller category. It dragged a lot for me. I'll put it in the "meh" pile
