I can‘t say that I really ‘got‘ why this book is a classic. It was - for me - just ok. Read for a challenge this year, otherwise, it would never have been on my radar.

sk888888 @Gennic My library didn‘t have The Big Sleep, only the Annotated version! Go figure. I skipped the annotated pages. The book was printed on the left page, all the notes on the right page, so it was easy to read. 5y

Annotated Big Sleep. It gives notes alongside the text. Shows Los Angeles during the 1920's which included maps and images of famous buildings, notes from Chandler's personal letters, pictures of hairstyles and clothing from the characters. I would highly recommend this book as an addition to any crime fiction fan's library and hope that you would enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed reading The Annotated Big Sleep. Thanks NetGalley for an ARC
