Dies the Fire
Dies the Fire: A Novel of the Change | S. M. Stirling
The Change occurred when an electrical storm centered over the island of Nantucket produced a blinding white flash that rendered all electronic devices and fuels inoperable. What follows is the most terrible global catastrophe in the history of the human race-and a Dark Age more universal and complete than could possibly be imagined. "Dies the Fire kept me reading till five in the morning so I could finish at one great gulp..."—New York Times bestselling author Harry Turtledove

Wow! Today‘s #bookcrawl around Myrtle Beach was a success! Now it‘s time for the beach!
The tagged book is one that I read years and years ago, but never finished the series. I really wanted to read them all, but feel like it‘s been too long to just pick up where I left off!

Ruthiella Is there really a Stephen King novel you didn‘t already own? 😂 8mo
BarkingMadRead @Ruthiella about 5 or 6 now 🤣 I‘m whittling that number down! 8mo
Clare-Dragonfly I‘ve been looking for that one in used bookstores forever! I‘m jealous! I might just have to bite the bullet and buy it from the evil empire… 8mo

RamsFan1963 Ooooh! Dies The Fire! I love that book, it's one of my all time favorites 8mo
BarkingMadRead @RamsFan1963 I loved it the first time I read it! I read the 2nd and maybe the 3rd, but I don‘t remember! 8mo
RamsFan1963 @BarkingMadRead I haven't read the whole series, I dropped out after book 6. The first 3 are the best, I didn't find the latter ones as enjoyable. 8mo
BarkingMadRead @RamsFan1963 oh that‘s good to know, I‘ll take my time then 🤣 8mo

Unlike some of the more extreme dytopia/post-apocalyptic stories I've read, Dies the Fire is the one that gives me nightmares. And I cant read about what Junie finds at the Fairfax place without tears.
