A novel about a young woman with one runaway successful novel behind her who can‘t write a contracted second novel when her life falls apart finding a way to build a new life thanks to an elderly writer with dementia and her sweet stepson, this was fine until 2/3 of the way through when the story flipped a switch. As part of a new fitness plan, I'm now on 'no screen time 45 minutes before bed'. So back to physical books it is!!

A really light hearted read about finally understanding what you would give up for love. And what kind of love you want in life. Full of fabulously quirky characters, a proper berk of a 'hero' to loathe, and a nice guy just waiting to be the romantic lead. Sparky, funny, colourful and cosy. A snuggly duvet of a book.

BookBabe I‘m tempted to try the same “no screen time” rule. I got a Kindle Oasis a couple years ago in hope it would help, since it isn‘t backlit, but the light still seems pretty blue to me. Might have to give this a shot! The book sounds interesting too. 5y

Novelist Lana struggles to write her second book. While trying to find inspiration she meets Jack, who offers to be her fictional hero. They go on a few fake dates, but since both don't believe in love it's just for the sake of Lana's book.
When Lana moves in with Jack's 80 y/o step mother, who used to be a successful author, but is suffering from dementia, things get interesting and funny.

This was a cute, quirky read with great side characters and a fun plot.

Lana,a struggling author, befriends an elderly famous author, Nancy, who‘s dealing with dementia. It‘s a surprisingly light book, perfect for the beach or by the fire if in colder weather. Although there is some romance, it‘s not done traditionally and I liked that most of the time it was on the back burner.
