A family broken by lies. A woman traumatized by a dark past. A child caught in the crossfire. Who will save April? Hannah Abbott is afraid of the world. Plagued by anxiety, she lives an isolated, uneventful life in suburban Yorkshire. She rarely leaves her house, and her only friend is Edith, her elderly neighbor. But when the Mason family moves in across the street, Hannah's quiet life is changed forever. The Masons pull Hannah into their tangled web of secrets. She must decide what to believe and who to trust as she attempts to rescue their teenage daughter, April, from harm. Hannah knows only one thing for certain: she can't be afraid anymore.

Finished my #bookspin book. Pretty good thriller - I noticed a few grammatical errors, but nothing too distracting. @TheAromaofBooks #bookspinbingo

I persuaded one book club not to read that other book, but then the library chose it for their December selection. So I requested the tagged book through ILL and will read that instead. And as a bonus it‘s #under250pages if only just barely. #gratefulreads

This book was a pleasant surprise.

A new family moved in across from Hannah and not too long she can hear the couple fighting. One afternoon while looking out the window she see‘s April in her window holding a sign with “help” written on it. What is she to do?

Great psychological thriller and the endless g was awesome.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

bookishkai Me all year. My mom was always trying to make me play outside and I would just take my book and find a good sunny patch in the yard and read instead. 6y
