Another great story. It's a slow start but there is some real drama in this. The writing and description of London during these times is so good, the plot builds to a clever and interesting ending. I love James, he's such a complex character yet you cant help but want him to succeed. I like that this isn't about him and Cat falling in love, yet a part of me still wants them too. #Netgalley 4*

so-so

My overwhelming attitude to this was meh. Everything that was OK about the first one was still OK but unfortunately everything that was weak/annoying/boring about it seemed even more so in this one. Especially the excessive dry description. I also grew to really dislike the two MCs. And, while it is largely inoffensive/mildly entertaining, the historical murder mystery genre is done much better elsewhere.
