Goodfellas meets Freaky Friday in this mind-bending new ongoing series from Fan-favorite creators GAIL SIMONE (Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Deadpool, Secret Six, Birds of Prey) and CAT STAGGS (Adventures of Supergirl, Smallville Season 11, Wonder Woman '77). A slick and ruthless Chicago hitman. A smart but downtrodden Seattle housewife. When an inexplicable event strikes these two random strangers, their bodies, souls, and lives are switched--to potentially deadly effect.Collects issues 1-6.Early praise for CROSSWIND: "CROSSWIND will sneak up on you from behind and knock you sideways. Gail Simone is at her absolute sharpest, and Cat Staggs's art is daring and sexy. Freakin' impressive is what it is...!"--Cully Hamner (RED, The Question) "Cat Staggs's art will grab you by the throat and kick you in the teeth. This is one creepy ride."--Joe Harris (ROCKSTARS, X-Files) "Freaky Friday--yes! But dark and twisted and such great art and page composition. And glints of humour. This is great, kinetic, mind-warping work. Art reminded me of Chaykin's The Shadow meets Bill Sienkiewicz. I love this."--Ian Rankin (Inspector Rebus novels) "Image has done it once again. The company put its faith in a stellar creative team, let their imaginations run wild, and the result is another must-read comic."--MonkeysFightingRobots.com "Honest, smart and brave. 10/10!"-All-Comic.com

Really enjoyed this body-switching graphic novel. The villain‘s reasons were...extremely arbitrary and dumb. But I enjoyed the story a lot.

I really liked this one. Two people switch bodies and lives. One is a hit man and the other a housewife. They each change the others lives.

Freaky Friday meets Goodfellas. Body swap Noir. You get the idea. I really liked this one. I liked that it didn‘t make this a comedy of errors and kind of revelled in the (varying shades of) darkness in the protagonists lives. I liked that it started to explore identity and what it means for these characters. I hope there is more in this series - but even if there isn‘t this a good open ended standalone.

Really good concept and solid scripting, but CROSSWINDS first volume is hampered a bit by static art that feels traced and a fairly rushed plot that doesn‘t give its characters enough room to breathe. For a book in which a male hit man and a female housewife swap bodies, it ends up seeming like a conventional but enjoyable crime story. Still, Simone is a sharp character writer and the book ends in an interesting place, so I am excited for more.
