This is, in my opinion, the great American graphic novel. It was made by Will Eisner as an opportunity to explore his Jewish experience. The use of the apartment as the stage for the people who live in it over a century.

Life on Dropsie Avenue is rich and vibrant and the inhabitants' stories of survival and endurance have a universal appeal. Unfortunately, it cannot be said that #historyneverrepeats as we continually witness the ghettoization of proletarian immigrants in western cities. The gentrification of these neighbourhoods once again displaces these groups, pushing them further towards the edges of the middle-class psyche.
