“In general, people are not drawn to perfection in others. People are drawn to shared interests, shared problems, and an individual's life energy. Humans connect with humans. Hiding one's humanity and trying to project an image of perfection makes a person vague, slippery, lifeless, and uninteresting.”

I always thought I was a bad person, but I'm actually a Nice Guy... Oh sh*t! That just means I'm actually a terrible person, but am masquerading as a good person.

Honestly, I fit the description of Nice Guys so well that I felt like I was being described personally, but the book also provides a solution to recover(thank God for that).

And yep, you should read it... NOW!

I appreciated this book and found much of what it shared helpful. In some ways I don‘t fit the nice guy description but in other ways I totally do. Mainly “nice guys” are trying to overcompensate hard childhoods through overcoming problems to have a smooth life. It doing that leads to other problems. The book did a good job describing, offering personal stories, and helpful ideas to make changes.
