Starting a new book! Love reading authors that I have never heard of!

Another thumping good read from Samantha Hayes. Mystery and intrigue surrounds the disappearance of young Lenny and when another young girl goes missing decades later, time seems to be repeating itself. Brilliant! #NetGalley

Over 20 years ago, Claire, her brother, sister and friends were at the beach. When Claire lets her sister leave to buy ice cream alone, it‘s the last time anyone sees her.

Claire‘s father is struggling with Alzheimers, so she decides to throw a reunion with family and friends to help his memory. After a girl goes missing, the only way to get her back and figure out what happened to Claires sister is to uncover the secrets everyone is hiding.

As an audio book for the train, this was pretty decent. I guessed the twist far too early though, and she neglected to tie-up a loose end, which I think she felt wasn‘t necessary because it was a red herring. So that puts it at so-so for me.

So this happens after a Saturday night out.🥂

This was a great thriller! Claire‘s sister disappeared almost 30 years ago and though the family still mourns Claire decides to throw a reunion for family and close friends as her dad is slipping into dementia. All hell breaks lose with secrets from the past. So many twists; this had me gasping up until the final page😳! Thanks to NetGalley. Out early Feb.
