What a wild read. It shows its age with the stereotypes and “not like other girls” comments. But once it veered into a paranormal setting, I was hooked. It's hardly my favorite read of this year, but sometimes I just need a guilty pleasure to keep my brain occupied.

I really enjoyed this! Yeah, many of the characters were unlikeable, but they‘re teenagers. That didn‘t bother me. I was interested and curious to find out what the heck was going on at this school! There were a few surprises along the way, though at least one of them I guessed very shortly before it was revealed, anyway. Cont in comments...

LibraryCin Unfortunately, it‘s one of those books that ended on a cliffhanger. I‘m not a big fan of that, but I was hoping, as I read, that it would be the first in a series, and it looks like it‘s a trilogy. I will definitely pick up the next book. 7y

For a first novel, it was well written. The cover art is gorgeous. The plot is original, but I wasn‘t a huge fan of the plot. There is some slut-shaming. There is a lot of discussion about beauty vs imperfections. Our heroine isn‘t wealthy, but ‘needs‘ to go to Brown University(?!). I don‘t want to give any spoilers, but I got tired of hanging out with these characters. I don‘t believe I will finish the series, which is unusual for me.
