This Year I Will...
This Year I Will...: How to Finally Change a Habit, Keep a Resolution, or Make a Dream Come True | M.J. Ryan
5 posts | 4 read | 2 to read
Learn the secret to making changes that stick Every so often people get inspired (again!) to lose weight, get organized, start saving, or stop worrying but a few months later they give up, frustrated. It doesnt have to be that way. In This Year I Wil . . .l, bestselling author M.J. Ryan offers breakthrough wisdom and coaching to help readers make this time the time that change becomes permanent. Why do people find it so hard to change? The secret is that everyone has their own formula for making changes that stick, but most people dont know what theirs is. They think there is one way to lose five pounds, and another way to stay on top of their e-mail, but they dont realize that for all changes, there is one system that works best for each individual. This Year I Will . . . helps you lock on to your unique formula for planning, implementing, and seeing a life change through, so you can use it again and again to tackle anything else youd like to do. For anyone who has broken a New Years resolution, fallen off a diet, or given up on fulfilling a dream, the ingenious strategies, inspiring stories, and sheer motivational energy of This Year I Will . . . help you make a promise to yourself that you can actually keep. Answers to the jacket quiz: c, c, false, b. Take the whole quiz and learn your score at M.J. Ryans Web site, www.mj-ryan.com. Are you really ready to change? Take this quiz and find out. Every New Years Day, my list of resolutions is: Ambitious. I aim for everything from losing weight to saving more money for my retirement. Realistic. I just try to bump my good behavior up a notch--be a better friend, give more money to charity---without giving myself any strict deadlines or goals. Precise. I decide exactly how many men I will ask for a date, or how many new jobs I will apply for. Whenever I decide to change something, its usually because: My doctor has put the fear of God into me. I read a magazine article about why making this change is important. I start daydreaming about how great life will be after I make the change. True or False: When you want to make a big change in your life, timing is crucial. Failure is: Impossible. Inevitable. Not in my vocabulary. (The answers are on the inside back flap.)

britt_brooke Amazing! 🙌🏻 6y
wanderinglynn Incredible! My goal for 2018 is only 78 books. So you‘ve read more in 4 months than I hope to read all year! 🎉👏🏻🙌🏻🎇🎆 6y

EadieB @CouronneDhiver @britt_brooke @wanderinglynn I do a lot of audios so I can get things done and still enjoy my books! 6y
britt_brooke @EadieB Me, too! I just started listening to audiobooks last year, but they‘ve pretty much doubled my reading (plus made mundane chores more palatable)! 6y
EadieB @britt_brooke Audiobooks will definitely increase your reading. 6y
wanderinglynn @EadieB @britt_brooke I‘ve tried audios, but I fade out, miss some action, then have to rewind it. I can read for hours on end, but I just can‘t pay attention to audios. 6y
Vertabrain That‘s incredible! I‘m on pace for a personal record, but I‘m still only on book 44 for the year, which includes audios as well. You‘re in a whole other league! 😉🤩🙌🏼 6y
EadieB @wanderinglynn with audios you have to train yourself to pay attention and not let your mind wander. Make sure you are listening to something that you are really interested in. 6y
Centique That‘s awesome. 🙌 I can‘t fathom how I could ever read anywhere near as much! Sounds like audio makes a big difference but I spend almost all my audio time on my 5 fave podcasts so whoops! 😂😂 6y
EadieB @Vertabrain In 2015 I read 264 books so I have slowed down. I‘m not a fast reader either. I usually only read 30 pages in an hour. 6y
EadieB @Centrique Reading is all about having fun and enjoying yourself and everyone has personal goals or just doing what makes them happy! 6y
britt_brooke @wanderinglynn It took some time to train my brain. I‘ve found that as far as audio goes, I prefer nonfiction. I started with author-narrated memoirs and books I‘d already read before just to make sure I could pay attention. Took a few books to really get the hang of it. 6y
wanderinglynn Thanks for the advice! @EadieB & @britt_brooke 6y
Andrew65 Some books work as audiobooks others I struggle with. I read more audiobooks every year. @Centique @wanderinglynn @britt_brooke 6y
Andrew65 A fantastic year return so far Eadie. 🙌👏 6y
EadieB @Andrew65 Thanks! Audios do help greatly! 6y
