Karen and Priya are BACK, and though they aren't dealing with Very Big And Dangerous Trouble, they're still in trouble. But while this story isn't as big and bombastic in terms of plot, it's still fun and full of heart. And it's also got something very important to say about relationships - but you can read it and find out on your own ;D.

Steampunk follow-up to Karen Memory. This one has Karen and Priya negotiating their relationship while also dealing with spiritualists and .... Well, that would probably be telling. Anyway, it's a fun start to the year.

I mentioned before that Squidapus isn't a romantic and so that's probably why he didn't enjoy this except for the middle. The cloying and honestly eyerolling romance in Karen Memory takes up most of this novella. It's almost 50 pages out of 150+ before getting to a fun story about some steampunk illusionists and a creature that can cause earthquakes then an ending of like 30 about the couple. Squidapus didn't want them to stay together by page 20

This was delightful and the perfect interlude to heavy subject matter and assignments! I actually really liked that it Priya and Karen had significant disagreements and a fight because I liked seeing them do the hard work of being in a relationship.

Found this little novella in the used book store this week and I guess it was Divine Providence cause I have it to Squidapus just as he was finishing up Karen Memory. The book and series is fun but kinda brought up a lot of weird plot resolutions that seemed sudden so maybe a shorter adventure will be a little tighter in execution.
