Christmas in Icicle Falls | Sheila Roberts
10 posts | 6 read | 4 to read
Join USA TODAY bestselling author Sheila Roberts this Christmas as she returns for the final installment in her treasured Icicle Falls series When Muriel Sterling released her new book, A Guide to Happy Holidays, she felt like the queen of Christmas. Shes thrilled when the new tree she ordered online arrives and is eager to show it offuntil she gets it out of the box and realizes its a mangy dud. But rather than give up on the ugly tree, Muriel decides to make a project out of it. As she pretties up her tree, she realizes theres a lesson to be learned: everything and everyone has potential. Maybe even her old friend Arnie, whos loved her for years. Except, shes not the only one seeing Arnies potential Meanwhile, Muriels ugly-tree project has also inspired her friends. Sienna Moreno is trying to bring out the best in the grouchy man next door, who hates noise, hates kids and hates his new neighbors. And while Olivia Claussen would love to send her obnoxious new daughter-in-law packing, shes adjusting her attitude and trying to discover what her son sees in the girl. If these women can learn to see the beauty in the ugly trees in their lives, perhaps this might turn out to be the happiest holiday yet.

This was a really cute book. It was a toss up between pick and so-so but for a fun Christmas read, I thought it was good. I liked that the book was totally centered on a romance but instead had a few story lines between people within the community and the idea of being kind to all, even those who aren‘t kind to you. Definitely a feel-good holiday read.

Read this #funbook this week, and there are some recipes in the back of the book of dishes mentioned in the story. My daughter and I made the eggnog muffins. They are so yummy! #readingsnack

The last in the series. 😿 But it was a good way to end, at Christmas when Icicle Falls is looking its best. Muriel has her words of wisdom throughout, which she is struggling to use herself. Everyone has an ugly tree in their life and we all have our ugly tree moments. Very festive read. #romantsy #readwomen

TheSketchyReader I‘m beginning it now but I haven‘t read any of the others in the series. Is it a stand alone? 6y
Lea @TheSketchyReader I think so, Muriel is the only character who has been mentioned in past books and enough backstory is given on her you won‘t miss much. Enjoy! 6y
TheSketchyReader @Lea Yay! Thank you! 6y

Just finished Christmas in Icicle Falls and LOVED it so much! I turned the final page with a HUGE smile, though bittersweet because I will definitely miss these characters since this is the last of this series! One of the main ideas in this story is with enough love and care, you can turn even the grumpiest of people (or ugliest of trees) into something beautiful. There is potential in everyone and everything. Who is the "ugly tree" in your life?
