I'm going to Estonia! And I am struggling through this audiobook, which is an account of a researcher's year in Estonia while she was finishing her Ph.D. It is a quiet story, just an account of the way of life there, but it is going more slowly and more quietly than I had hoped. 😕 I want to impress my Estonian colleagues with my new knowledge but that seems unlikely to happen when there are more exciting books on my TBR/TBL list! 🙁

DivineDiana How wonderful! Why are you traveling there? 7y
julesG I have to laugh again. First no one was Amsterdam, now no one is travelling to Estonia. #SorryNotSorry, your choice of name was brilliant. I second @DivineDiana's question, why are you travelling. And, I can recommend a novel set in Estonia: 7y
Lindy I struggled with this book too, although I liked it well enough to stick with it until the end. How exciting that you are going to Estonia! 🇪🇪 I second @julesG recommending 7y

No_One @DivineDiana @julesG I am in a new job and the company has facilities there. I am going to visit our R&D facility, production facility and meet my Estonian colleagues. I am very excited! So far they are very lovely people and I can't wait to meet them. I get to stay for a weekend, which is also very exciting! 😊😊😊😊 7y
No_One @julesG @Lindy thank you for the book recommendation! I might prefer it. 😊 Have either of you been to Estonia? I'll be staying in Tallinn and visiting museums and walking around over the weekend. 😊 7y
DivineDiana @No_One Enjoy the experience and best wishes in your new job! (edited) 7y
No_One @DivineDiana thank you so much! 7y
Izai.Amorim Enjoy the trip. Right time of the year. I‘ve heard winters are pretty cold over there. 7y
julesG No, I haven't been to Estonia yet. It's on my bucket list, ranking higher than New Zealand, so I might get there eventually. 😉 7y
Lindy @No_One No, I've never been there. I hope you will share your trip with us on Litsy. 😊 7y
No_One @Izai.Amorim thank you! And I‘m told it is not unusual to see snow in October! 🙂 7y

cajunsyd Read "Purge" which is a great book set in Estonia. It was recommended to me by an Estonian prior to my trip to Tallinn! I loved it! Enjoy, it is a beautiful and friendly country! 7y
No_One @cajunsyd thank you! I put "Purge" on my TBR list. I should have asked the Litsy community for recommendations sooner, as I leave tomorrow! Oh well, I will read it later. Maybe I can buy it in Estonia, as a souvenir. ? 7y
cajunsyd @No_One you will definitely be able to get it there! Enjoy, it is a beautiful place! 7y
No_One @cajunsyd 👍🏽 7y
blueberry.cobbler Wow Estonia! I was there in the summer. Tallinn's lovely. Don't forget to visit the Open Air Museum (that might even take a whole day). And just give the old town a nice long stroll, it is worth it ;) 7y
blueberry.cobbler Also, I'd love to read some estonian authors, so pls post those when you find any good ones :) 7y
