Leveled
Leveled: A Saints of Denver Novella | Jay Crownover
5 posts | 8 read | 2 to read
We all need a hero...let the Saints of Denver beginOrlando Frederick knows what it is to be leveled by pain. Instead of focusing on his own, hes made it his mission to help others: sports stars, wounded war vets, survivors of all kinds. But when Dom, a rugged, damaged, sinfully attractive cop, makes his way into Landos physical therapy practice, he might be the biggest challenge yet. Lando loved one stubborn man before and barely survived the fallout. Hes not sure he can do it again.Dominic Voss is a protector. The police badge he wears is not only his job, its his identity, so when hes sidelined because of an injury, the only thing he cares about is getting back on the force. He expects Lando to mend his body, he just doesnt realize the trainer will also have him working toward a hell of a lot more. As attraction simmers and flares, Dom sees that Lando needs repair of his own...if only the man will let him close enough to mend what's broken.

#24hrtbrreadathon it was a very wet weekend for camping but I finished this one very early this morning. Haven't done much reading since I got home though. This may have to be my only book for this #readathon. I'm exhausted!

Despite the rain (I may never be dry again, Littens). I'd say my first camping trip since I was a kid was a much better experience than I ever had as a kid. Must have been the wine. I didn't get to read as much as I wanted but I did finish Leveled during breakfast this morning.

Beckys_Books Love the liquor station - a camping essential!! 7y
CocoReads @Beckys_Books it was our scorecard. Lol or as someone called it, our "Wall of shame" 7y

Go camping they said...it'll be fun. It's not awful but I'm freezing my butt off! At least it stopped raining!

Literaryunicorn I'm an indoor girl. 🚫⛺️ 7y
LaraReads Lol. Yeah, I'd say we're more into "glampimg" here. Cabins, beds, hot tubs, and lots of comfy places for reading. No tents for this girl! 7y

CocoReads @Literaryunicorn I'm an indoor girl too but I let my bestie talk me into it. It's not awful except for the cold. 7y
CocoReads @LaraReads we're in a cabin but it's primitive just bunk beds and a table. Havecto hike to the shower house for flush toilets and showers. And heat. 7y
CocoReads Luckily, it's almost noon which I think is an acceptable time to start drinking. 😂🍹 7y
LaraReads @CocoReads oh, no. Not hiking to the bathroom! 😵 And yes to noon being a totally legit drinking time. Cheers! 🍷 7y
TheNextBook Hahahaha! My husband already knows I don't camp. I'll glamp but I don't camp! 7y
Zelma I actually like camping but being cold while camping is miserable. Ugh! 7y
CocoReads I haven't gone since I was a kid because I hated it but as an adult, being able to drink makes it ok 7y

Went on a big crownover binge this week. Just finished this one today and really really enjoyed it. Caught myself blushing cause they are just a couple of cutie pies.

Mehso-so

This had it's moments but the last chapter/epilogue was not where that story should have gone. I liked the characters but the conflict was just a shade too contrived (JUST TELL HIM YOUR BOYFRIEND DIED OMG) and Lando simultaneously too fast and too slow in his grief arc for me to believe.

MeganB I ran out of space, but the one thing that's DEFINITELY in the pick category is the guy on the cover. Like DAMN son! 8y
