Mighty Thor, Volume 2: Lords of Midgard
Mighty Thor, Volume 2: Lords of Midgard | Jason Aaron
9 posts | 16 read | 1 to read
The legend continues with Thors new and old! Loki spins a special ages-old tale of a young Odinson in action against a hulking great enemy. You wouldn't like this Viking when he's angry! But what incredible impact will this yarn from the past have on the present? Prepare for corporate espionage, Marvel-style, as some of the world's most powerful and evil conglomerates go to war - with Thor caught in the middle! And as if Roxxon and the rest aren't enough trouble, Jane Foster must contend with a new enemy: S.H.I.E.L.D.! Worse still, somehow millions of lives will depend on the God of Thunder saving Roxxon's evil executive, Dario Agger! COLLECTING: MIGHTY THOR 6-12

Still enjoying this series. Just heard they are doing these as a movie. I look forward to seeing it. There is already displeasure in some social media circles from people not happy Thor is a woman. Or not happy with the actress. And my favorite, this isn't what the original myths portrayed. As if any of the Marvel movies have stayed true to the myths. They should have a disclaimer of "Loosely based on" for all their movies. I'm still in.

MCYmermaid Also in for Thor in non-dude incarnations as well as best-known. 5y

Read both volume 1 and 2 for #24in48. Pretty good, though one character was so weird I almost had to walk away. But I'm enjoying this series overall. What do you guys think?

Her villain name is the Exterminatrix. Sigh.

3.5/5

Well I'm just tearing through this run. I felt like this volume was mostly backstory and buildup, but I still really enjoyed it, especially the part about Mjolnir's creation.

This continues to be a super fun series, and I'm excited to read the next volume!

"My ass...doth disagree."

I don't know why this made me laugh. Maybe I'll start using it in arguments!

I am loving this take on Thor. I also think Jason Aaron does a good job of building on the Marvel Thor mythos with new stories and legends.
