People keep asking me what I‘m reading. The past month I was traveling and preparing for an upcoming musical theater gig, planning kiddo‘s birthday party, getting her to her various obligations; I‘ve got zero bandwidth to spare. What‘s the best thing to tell people when the truth is: copious amounts of digital smut because I can‘t concentrate on anything else? 😆🤪🤣

Reisz‘s latest Original Sinners novel is one hell of a whydunnit. Nora teams up with Cyrus, a PI who matches her quip for quip, to discover why a priest she‘s never met called her old professional number right before he killed himself. And ooooh boy,
does it ever get intense.

Because in true Reisz fashion, the case is layered, kinky, and personally relevant to the characters. Nora and Cyrus need to face up to heavy truths about themselves as⬇️

April stats! I did a lot more stress-reading last month, participated in my 24th straight Readathon, and tried to get the most out of my Scribd membership.

Unfortunately, I didn‘t find any 5-star books, buf I read a whole bunch of 4-star stuff (my Loved It rating) and THE PRIEST by Tiffany Reisz was a hell of a 4.5er.

Damn, y‘all. I tried to go to bed at a reasonable hour after an evening of TV catch-up, but I didn‘t turn out my light until 1:30 because there was no way I could sleep until I saw THE PRIEST through.

I‘m devastated (because holy emotions, Batman) but also ecstatic. This is one of my top four favourite series, and Reisz has kept it strong.

A couple of important thoughts on THE PRIEST:

1. NORA HAS A DOG NOW. Everything‘s better with a dog.

2. Reisz isn‘t a fade-to-black author, but there‘re more than a few scenes where she tricks the reader into thinking she‘s changed her approach here. She shifts to another set of characters doing non-sex stuff—then we dive right back into the kinky sex scenes. This amuses me maybe too much.

Still exhausted. Thank goodness I had a microwave meal in the freezer so I didn‘t have to cook.

(The meal wasn‘t brilliant, but it WAS easy and edible and it had 15g of protein. I suck at getting enough protein.)

THE PRIEST is still wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! The Original Sinners are the kind of characters you want to talk about like they‘re real. I feel like we all oughta sit down together and debrief about Nora et al.

I‘m exhausted—but I decided I‘d try to read a chapter or two of THE PRIEST before I passed out, and it‘s so good I‘m now 12% in and determined to keep going just a wee bit longer.

I mean, I‘ll probably still be asleep by 10:00 or 10:30, because not even Tiffany Reisz can work a miracle strong enough to thwart whatever‘s sucking my energy, but I‘ll pass out with a nice chunk of an excellent book in my brain.

I‘ve got a sparse #weeklyforecast this time around. The #Readathon‘s next weekend and I haven‘t locked my pile down yet!

In the lead-up to the event, I plan to read:

• SWEEP WITH ME. Gotta get my Innkeeper fix.

• THE PRIEST. Tiffany Reisz‘s latest, which has its wide release tomorrow!

• FOR THE LIVING. More L.A. Witt, and also what would‘ve been my #triplespin if I were formally participating.

• maybe a TBD Japanese novella. I dunno yet.

For #ReindeerReads day 4, the prompt is #naughty. I'm my opinion, Tiffany Reisz's books basically define the idea of naughty, in a totally awesome way. Not for everyone, but if you're looking to dip a toe into the genre of erotica, I highly recommend starting with her books!

Back from my cruise to the Bahamas (😩) so belatedly unloading some of the books I read along the way. And this steamy addition to the Original Sinners series (and back story on Nora/Soren) was the perfect beach read! 🛳 #romantsy
