so-soSince I got the feeling I didn't do enough for this months #FoodandLit journey to #Egypt I somehow managed to squeeze in this book as well. It was my first Tree House adventure, but I'm not sure if I'm going to read more. I like how the author lets children learn about history in a fun and entraining way, but to me the characters were too bland and the plot to hasty.

TheAromaofBooks There's an older series that was published in maybe the 1950s or something called the “We Were There“ books. I've ended up with a few of them over time, and I have similar feelings about them as you have for this one - it's interesting for younger readers to have characters their age at important historical events, but also ends up over-simplifying some things and glossing over a lot of things. 2y
