We have a patron (well, there's more, but this one is particularly gung-ho) who loovves #Amish lit. Can't get enough of it! She comes in regularly to find more offerings. So I went through the catalogue and met her downstairs at the Circ Desk with this stack of books. She exclaimed with joy. Happy patrons are what we aim for ☺️😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! As I walked her to her car, she kept wondering how long it would take to read them, I said a week tops 😆.

Zelma I used to have a patron like that, only for Amish and clean Western audiobooks. I did interlibrary loan so I was always on the hunt for new ones. I learned the hard way about making sure the Western weren't dirty when this 80-year-old woman recited the naughty parts back time to complain about them. We're talking f*ck and c*ck. 😳😳😳 7y

Buddys_Momma That is awesome!! Kudos to you for keeping the patrons happy 😊 7y
brennahawleycraig That is awesome! How I have to ask, being ignorant of it, what exactly is amish lit? I have seen people post about it but don't really get what it is as a genre. 7y
Laura317 To each his own. I always shunned it. 7y
MrBook @brennahawleycraig Amish Lit involves stories that take place in the Amish community. It's considered a sub-genre of Christian fiction. I may be wrong, but Amish Lit is to Christian fiction what cozy mysteries are to mysteries: lighter fare that doesn't have a grittier edge to it and doesn't have much in the way of direct violence, swearing, sex, that sort of thing. This particular patron works to avoid having those things in her selections. 7y
MrBook @Zelma Yes! My experience too 😆😁👏🏻🙌🏻 #KindredSpirits! @Reecaspieces YOU'RE the best 😎👌🏻! @Redwritinghood It's very rewarding 😊👍🏻. @Buddys_Momma Thank you ☺️! @Laura317 Lol! Yeah, not my cup of tea either. 7y
KimM I read an Amish Lit book for book club once. I was skeptical. But I ended up finding the book fascinating. It made you want to get back to a simpler life and do more things by hand. 7y

brennahawleycraig @MrBook That is so fascinating!! I would likely never have cause to get into that genre, but it's so interesting how specific some of these things get! 7y
