Maine Coon's Haiku: And Other Poems for Cat Lovers
Maine Coon's Haiku: And Other Poems for Cat Lovers | Michael J Rosen
4 posts | 1 read
In evocative haiku, Michael J. Rosen depicts twenty different breeds of cats whether mischievous or mysterious, comical or commanding. Some cats have names that suggest far-off lands, like the Turkish Angora and the Norwegian forest cat. Others allude to places closer to home, such as California s ragdoll and the Maine coon. Set against Lee White s graceful illustrations, with intriguing facts about each of twenty breeds at the end, this charming haiku collection for lovers of America s most popular house pet provides the purr-fect book to curl up with."

This book is very relatable for children because they love animals! I would use this in my classroom for the concept that each animal has different breeds and species which can help my students create new schemas!

This poem book is all about cats! I believe the poems throughout are very informative as they are also fun and playful for children. The authors use of poetry to describe each breed of cat really gives them personality! On each page, the author provides an illustration of each kind of cat as well.
