Stan Lee was a massive influence on my life. His creations and storylines are what I think about when I think of superheroes and comics. The Fantastic Four are my all-time favourites, from about the age of 4 or 5 in the late '60s. It was rare that I could get hold of genuine - in colour! - American Marvel comics in those days, but I was an avid reader of the UK black-and-white reprints. 👇🏼👇🏼

Bookwomble My first cat, a mutant ginger tom, as called Benny after Ben Grimm, The Thing from the FF. Starting of as the runt of the litter, Benny grew into a monster cat with two extra toes on each paw, a snaggle-toothed snarl and a penchant for clobberin' the neighbour's Labrador dog! I was overruled by my wife on calling our son Franklin after Sue and Reed Richards' child (that still rankles!). For this, and lots more, Thanks Stan 🧡❤💙💖 5y

My heart is crushed right now. Knowing Stan Lee is no longer with us is not how I wanted to spend my day. What an amazing human being and what a gift to the world. I‘m not sure where pop culture would be today without the work he was done. And can we talk about his cameos in movies? You will be truly missed!
