I Will Never Not Ever Eat a Tomato
I Will Never Not Ever Eat a Tomato | Lauren Child
4 posts | 8 read | 1 to read
The critically acclaimed Charlie and Lola books -- now an animated series on television! Lola is a fussy eater. A very fussy eater. She won t eat her carrots (until her brother Charlie reveals that they re orange twiglets from Jupiter). She won t eat her mashed potatoes (until Charlie explains that they re cloud fluff from the pointiest peak of Mount Fuji). There are many things Lola won t eat, including - and especially - tomatoes. Or will she? Two endearing siblings star in a witty story about the triumph of imagination over proclivity. "Youngsters will never - not ever - pass up a second helping." - PUBLISHERS WEEKLY"

I Will Never Not Ever Eat a Tomato by Lauren Child is a spectacular book to read to children who are fussy about what they eat. A Kate Greenaway Award Winner, it‘s illustrations and imagination are perfect to teach students that trying new food can be an amazing adventure! #ucflae3414su20

CameoD UDL principle 9.1 aligns with this book because it promotes and motivates young students to try new things and always be open to new ideas. Esol strategy 15 would work well with this, because you are using key ideas to keep the idea of expanding your horizons constant. This link is a great re-telling of the story! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PfRBuNTXrVo 4y
RamzieM This seems like such a cute book! Good job aligning the the UDL and ESOL principles. 4y

This F picture book will have students intrigued the entire time! Lola is a very picky eater, so Charlie must convince her to use her imagination to eat foods she doesn't like. This book is full of great illustrations so I would use it as a RA. One UDL & EL strategy is Guide appropriate goal-setting (6.1) & 18. Use commands and directions that involve overt student actions as in Total Physical Response (TPR). #UCFLAE3414SP20

Ryan_R I remember this show from when I was a kid! Loved the simplistic animation style. 4y
carolinem Lol this looks so cute!! The extension activity looks awesome 4y
DrSpalding What kind of fiction? I love the extension idea of using this book in a science lesson about nutrition. Charlie and Lola are fun characters that as Ryan stated, were a part of a cartoon that students might be familiar with. 4y

Charlie and Lola. My kids loved these characters when they were little. So did I. And the British accents in the show were just the best. Loved listening to my girls trying to imitate them 😂😂 #riotgrams #riotgram #CharacterWhoSharesYourName @bookriot
