I read this book over and over and over again when I was a kid. I'd never read a book about my home state before and was fascinated by the story. I think it counts as loving the book to death if you break the spine and most of the pages fall out, right? ❤️🐶

This book, based on a true story, is classified as NF. Throughout the book, you learn a lot about a snow dog named Balto, and you follow along his journey to receive some medicine and bring it to his town. This book would sure grasp a students interest. There is a statue of Balto in Central Park! http://www.wiesereducational.com/samples/?file=lgls3744is.pdf this link provides a writing activity, questions, and a crossword puzzle! #UCFLAE3414sp17

DrSpalding Novel-Ties is a neat resource! Another classic story about mans' best friend. http://www.centralparknyc.org/things-to-see-and-do/attractions/balto.html 7y
