This is a pre-1923 historical reproduction that was curated for quality. Quality assurance was conducted on each of these books in an attempt to remove books with imperfections introduced by the digitization process. Though we have made best efforts - the books may have occasional errors that do not impede the reading experience. We believe this work is culturally important and have elected to bring the book back into print as part of our continuing commitment to the preservation of printed works worldwide.

While looking for a good set of end papers to use for today's #readjanuary prompt, I came across this inscription in a first edition of the above book: "Charlotte H.G. Ripley, Merrymount, Tacoma Washington, 1919". It is so odd, sometimes, to look at my books and realize how many of them are nearly or over a century old!

rubyslippersreads I love the old inscriptions and bookplates in my vintage books. 7y
GlitteryOtters @rubyslippersreads me too! I had somehow forgotten about the inscription in this one (I remembered it was a 1918 first edition, but forgot about that inscription!) 7y
Joanne1 So cool. How many hands have turned those pages? 7y
