A new story set in the world of The Expanse. One day, Colonel Fred Johnson will be hailed as a hero to the system. One day, he will meet a desperate man in possession of a stolen spaceship and a deadly secret and extend a hand of friendship. But long before he became the leader of the Outer Planets Alliance, Fred Johnson had a very different name. The Butcher of Anderson Station. This is his story.

A quick short story about the development of the Fred Johnson character in the Expanse novels. I read this last month but forgot to post it here. I'm going to try and catch up more on the Expanse novels and novellas this coming year.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was a short but really good glimpse into the history of Fred Johnson and his role as The Butcher of Anderson Station and how he came to be the voice of the OPA. My only complaint is that I wish it had been longer.

Bit too short... but oh so good... these short fiction nuggets in and of themselves are great distractions but if you‘re a fan, they give great perspective on a world I have a hard time getting enough of... more more more!
