The last book I finished in August was one for #FoodandLit

Karachi is the biggest city of #Pakistan and this book takes us straight into the very middle of it. A bomb explodes, and many lives are not the way they were before. Bilal Tanweer inweaves those people, who all are connected in some ways. It's a touching book, calmly told. Tanweer listens to his characters, gets down into their souls. And as we follow the characters, ⬇

So, these three dishes were the last I did for the #FoodandLit trip to #Pakistan 🥰 Right above ist Aloo Gobi, a Potato and Cauliflower stew. Right below Rajta, the Pakistani version of Tsatziki. And left todays dessert for lunch: Gajar ka halwa, sweet carrots 😋

Now it's time to decide which recipes from #Guatemala I'll try 😁

So, I wanted to make Baigan Bharta for our #FoodandLit journey to #Pakistan - but when I took the Eggplant out of the oven I tried one, and thought they're way to tasty to be mashed. Cooking creativity hit me, and I ended up with something totally different than planned 😅🙈 But it all started with a Pakistani recipe... 😅

Spent my afternoon off watching the movie What Will People Say by Iram Haq, while munching some almost self-made Falafel Wraps. The movie is definitely worth watching, even though it's for sure no feel good movie. Especially if you keep in mind, that a lot of it is autobiographical...

Very refreshing read.

I hid myself behind Baba. It was like being in the shadow. Shadows are empty places in things. The colour of shadow is also black, which is the color of empty things. Blackboard is also black when it is empty No one can draw shadows on blackboards because shadows keep on changing. You cannot draw changing things. But it happens, you know; you draw and you look and it has changed.
