The Inca Prophecy
The Inca Prophecy | Adrian d'Hage
1 post | 1 read
The end of the world awaits humankind if the Inca Prophecy cannot be found . . . An eerie clue to the Prophecy lies heavily guarded beneath the Vatican. Another is hidden near the famous Inca ruins at Machu Picchu. Archaeologist Aleta Weizman and rogue CIA agent Curtis O'Connor must unearth both clues if they are to decode the prophecy's meaning before it's too late. But time is not on their side. The Iranians are building a nuclear bomb. Israel has an itchy trigger finger. Though the world has never been closer to destruction, a powerful few are doing all they can to ensure the Inca's fabled warning will never be heard. And the CIA is hunting Weizman and O'Connor down, hell bent on silencing them forever. With trademark style and sizzling pace, the bestselling author of The Maya Codex delivers his next action-packed international tour de force. Praise for Adrain d'Hage's novels: 'A provocative book in which every sort of dogma is questioned and every preconceived idea turned on its head.' Sunday Mail 'A classy action thriller.' Sunday Times 'A fast-paced and thrilling read.' West Australian 'Chilling . . . d'Hage knows his stuff.' Sun Herald

The Inca Prophecy | Adrian d'Hage
Bailedbailed

I'm giving up on this only 34 pages in (my usual rule is to read to 30% of a book, but that would mean I'd have to read to p .120 of this one and I just don't think I can make it). What I read was like The Da Vinci Code meets Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls, with a bit of modern politics/conflict thrown in to give it relevancy. I'd enjoy any of these things separately, but put them all together and it just doesn't work for me.

anwade88 If you haven't been hooked by 30 pages... well that's a long chance! 7y
Heather_Reads @anwade88 I think it just depends on the book. There's one I read a little while back that I was nearly going to give up on at around the 30% mark but then all of a sudden I was sucked in and couldn't put it down. With this book it was just annoying me that it was like other stuff I've read/seen. And there's a level of descriptiveness that comes across as a bit snobbish. Like, the author wants to show off that he knows certain lingo etc. 7y
anwade88 Ugh! I hate it when you can't stand to read because of the voice. Yes I've had a few books like that, I nearly bailed but was glad I finished in the end. 💕 7y
Heather_Reads @anwade88 I do like the happiness that comes with perseverance paying off. I find myself asking "Do I care what's going to happen?", and "Is there at least one thing that's happened that I need to know more about?" If I answer yes to one of those then I'll keep going. PLUS if it's well written that helps. 7y
