This story is cheesy, sweet, and light-hearted despite its shortcoming of emphasis on hypermasculinity. It is filled with Takeo‘s pure adoration of Yamato, and you can smell the honey in the air when they are together. The artwork is superb with clear distinctions among characters. The best part is the illustrations of Takeo with his facial expressions and movements, which are so funny that you can‘t help but laugh out loud.

Okay. I gotta say that this series ranks high on my list of shoujo manga - it‘s sweet and humorous, and not whiny or overly dramatic. The ending wasn‘t rushed. Loved the characters, loved the story 👍

So glad they revolved the whole Tanaka-issue. I know he's not a bad guy, but I still detest such behavior. As for Yamato's sudden family situation...😱😭😨 What's gonna happen next?!?! Poor Yamato x Takeo 😞

This will always be one of my favourite shōjo manga of all time. So much warmth. Fluffiness. Sweetness. Delightful love. Beautiful friendships. Wonderful families. I just love everything about it. Even this final volume, volume 13, it was an excellent conclusion to an absolutely fantastic series.

Takeo and Yamato are so adorable together 😆 I liked how Yamato took matters into her own hands to learn skills that wouldn't make her completely reliant on Takeo for saves. 😅 Last but not least, who is the new creeper guy that's messing around with Suna...he's not nice 😝

Volume 12 caused all sorts of feelings. It focuses a lot more on trying to understand a person & the intentions behind their actions so you can build a genuine friendship, even if that person can be a difficult brat. It also explores the first very serious issue in Takeo's and Rinko's relationship, which was portrayed and dealt with in a naturally empathetic way. 5/5!

Roles are reversed in Volume 11 as Takeo faces his biggest tribulation with his friendship with Suna yet! I love that the manga portrays real insecurities with very real solutions and ways of facing those insecurities that isn't derogatory, or demeaning to adolescents, or something that's completely unbelievable and abnormal. This series is such awesomesauce fluff-stuffs. 😆😆

Volume 10 is just... Too. Fricking. Cute. Sunakawa is more the focus and his side of the friendship as Takeo does some growing as an individual. Takeo and Rinko's relationship are also reaching a new evolution, which causes crazy mixed feelings. It was a wonderful volume and just as delightfully feel-good as I've come to expect from the series!!

Volume 9 was another great one. Rinko is making strides towards pursuing a passion of hers. Meanwhile, Gouda finds himself struggling with an inner conflict. This struggle makes him more human, normalising him, which makes him a character that everyone can relate to on one level or another. I enjoyed it very much. This volume made me SUPER hungry for sweets though, haha.
