Finishing this in-between rounds of Bug Bingo with my son! These are stories collected by a much-respected contemporary of the Grimms, Franz Xaver von Schonwerth, It's been said that he told the stories more truly to how he was told them, but this also means they're less "gussied up" for storytelling, if you will. I really enjoyed this collection! There's a good variety, and it's fascinating to see the Bavarian culture reflected in these tales.
