Southern belle Verity Long is back in business-as a ghost hunter. Now all she has to do is visit the town's creepiest mansion and exorcise a family of vengeful spirits. Piece of cake. After all, ghosts love her and need her...that is until she meets the ghosts of Rock Fall mansion. They'll do anything to keep their murderous secrets hidden within the cliff-side fortress-even if that means getting rid of one meddling ghost hunter. With the entire town skeptical and scrutinizing her every move, Verity struggles to uncover the century-old mystery behind the house. And when she stumbles upon a very fresh, very dead body, she realizes there's more to it than she ever imagined. With the help of her sexy cop boyfriend, Ellis, and her ghostly gangster sidekick, Frankie, she braves the overgrown gardens, the desolate family cemetery, and the haunted mansion that have been locked away for generations. But can Verity unearth the truth before she's the next one buried on the deadly grounds?

This one was a little darker imo. I like where the storyline is going, a very natural progression. I was in a huge reading slump during this read, it took me too long to finish it. Not the fault of the book at all.

BethM I really like this series! I think I‘ve read 4 or 5. 2y

☕☕☕ and a half/5

This is the fourth book in the Southern Ghost Hunter series and I love them all. Verity is so strong willed and the stories keep getting better. Such nice and quick reads, love to read them after a emotionally draining book.

This was a fun short mystery with some quirky characters (the girl has a pet skunk & a gangster ghost). Normally, I don't read many paranormal cozy mysteries, but this caught my interest & the Kindle version was free on Amazon (last time I checked, it was still free). Even though I haven't read this series from the beginning, Angie Fox did a really good job explaining things, so I didn't feel like I was missing anything from starting with book #4.

Seekingtardis I downloaded this for free yesterday too!! But they also have #1 free right now too. (edited) 6y
KrystleTheBookSlayer @Seekingtardis Yup, I checked online and the 1st one's free too, I may start that one tonight if I get the chance! 😊 6y

OMG! OMG! I have to say I think this series just gets better and better. I love Verity, her boyfriend Ellis, her pet skunk and her best ghost pal, Frankie. I love when Frankie's ghost gang shows up,I love watching Ellis be all cop and protective, and I love watching Verity deal with her fears and come out on the other side. The characters are well written and engaging. The setting is outstanding, fans of mysteries will love it. GO BUY THIS BOOK!

Best yet in this series. Loved it! Haunted mansion, cursed family and vengeful ghosts. Perfect read for this time of year. Verity and her ghost partner Frankie get their 1st ghost hunting job to rid the mansion of the ghosts and try to solve the murders. The author does an excellent job describing the mansion and ghostly happenings. Can't wait to read the next one!
