Lucinda has lost her father and her fiancée to violence. Although officially cleared, society still views her with suspicion, especially since as a botanist of talent she is asked to use it to help the police. Now a poisoner has used one of her plants to kill. Lucinda hires Caleb from the Jones Detective Agency to find the murderer. Together they uncover a complex plot to take down the Arcane Society. A dash of wit, danger and romance for 3+⭐️.

How can I resist a book with a title like this? I proposed a master gardener talk about essentials of a gardener‘s library; I wonder if I could include this? 😂 Looking forward to starting this.

Gripping! Alex is called in to monitor an adult put under 48 hour mental health observation because he was supposedly therapist of record. He wasn‘t. He had treated her son. However, shortly after he finds her a home, she is murdered and Alex is concerned about what might have happened to her son. His search turns up more murders, greed and theft.

My stats from last month. I participated in a book club challenge so I read even more than usual. 29 books and the equivalent of 8033 pages. Two were graphic novels and two were written in verse. My favorite of the month was The Poisoner's Ring by Kelley Armstrong. I can't wait for the next book to release.

LiseWorks I just finished the Poisoners Ring as well. It was good. 4w
RedxoHearts @LiseWorks the next book comes out tomorrow 4w

⭐️⭐️ Oof. I appreciate Rule‘s attention to detail, and the recreated dialogue, but this book was so much longer than necessary. Took me forever to complete. And the subject matter - Pat Taylor (plus her various other monickers) - was not even that interesting. Too much true crime lately has me oddly desensitized in my reading, I guess.

If you like time travel in the Victorian Era, then this is a great series. Book 2, where Melanie, who finds herself in a young maids body and is actually a cop helps the family solve a murder. By the way, the Victorian Era had Emo Hair styles, thus the bingo spot for #ISpyBingoMarch. #SeriesLove24 #ReadAway24 #AwesomeAprilReadathon @Clwojick @TheSpineView @TheAromaofBooks @Andrew65 @DieAReader @GHABI4ROSES

I just couldn‘t get into this one at all. I listened to the audiobook and couldn‘t wait for it to be done. It also just ends very abruptly. I know there‘s another book but I did just feel like it could have ended with more thought. The cover was amazing though!!! ⭐️⭐️

Book 2 of this series finds several local deaths by poisoning and suspicious they may be connected. Mallory uses her current day knowledge alongside the tools present in Edinburgh past to try to solve it. I‘m really enjoying this series so far and look forward to the next book!
