I read a lot of books I really enjoyed in May, but none that grabbed me and shook me to say “I am the favorite.” So I reviewed my list and was surprised when my heart chose Breaking Bread! I don‘t think I‘ve ever had a cookbook in my top reads before. This is a big year for nonfiction, I guess, with Mystical Stitches taking the top spot for March. Both were library borrows, but I bought Mystical Stitches and plan to do the same with this!

I made a batch of homebrew last weekend. My first attempt in Colorado turned out really well 🍺. Trying a tripel this time. The recipe was a little off, so I had to make some adjustments, but I'm hopeful for a good brew🤞3 months is a long time to wait to find out, though 😬
panOf 40+ recipes, there are only 5 I‘d want to try in here. A lot of fiddly recipes, written for children, and a lot of vegan/gluten-free. Beautifully laid out but not a great cookbook for me.

It‘s a dreary cool day here, but this lemon pie will be our sunshine. 😎 Sure sign of impending summer break when I begin making these kinds of pies. This is a dessert I‘ll actually eat because it‘s citrusy. 🍋 It only takes a sliver to satisfy.

I had just listened to the History of Sex and Dirty Laundry lectures which were both very funny with interesting combinations of people. I adore the earrings and have had my eye on The Vanishing Point for a while. I‘ve already returned the top two books after a peruse as they weren‘t what I first thought.
