So, apparently between tablet acting up and forgetting my login, I dropped off the map for awhile, so of course when I decide to post again, it is about a book about maps. And sea monsters. And trees that supposedly hatch ducks.
Actually, this is a really fun nonfiction read on the Carta Marina and is just a fun deep dive into sea monsters and the “Here Be Dragons“ style maps.
Started reading for a project, but might just read it again for fun.

A Wild Swan: And Other Tales | Michael Cunningham

Most of us can manage our own undoings. Vengeful entities seek only to devastate the rarest, the ones who have somehow been granted not only bower and trumpet but comeliness that startles the birds in the trees, coupled with grace, generosity, and charm so effortless as to seem like ordinary human qualities.
Who wouldn't want to fuck these people up?

From Dis. Enchant

Just starting to read this one. Not sure what I think yet, but the beginning hooked me in so I want to know what happens.

I'm enjoying this book so far. Does it count as looking for spoilers that I skipped to the back to pass on the recipes to friends who drink more than I do?
I love the idea of going through the history of the alcohol and the history of the people drinking the alcohol at the same time.
