Forgot how much I loved this kid! 😂
An amusing group of tales with a moral attached. Filled with Baum‘s usual sassiness and snark. Very enjoyable.
I liked it, but I‘m not sure if I get it. The main character lives in her own little world and it may have been too surreal for me.
A fantastical and interesting take on the Santa Claus myth.
Not my favorite Hawthorne but I‘m glad I read it.
I‘m only about 50 pages in, but so far I‘m enjoying it!
Don‘t go into this short story collection thinking all the tales are supernatural or you will be disappointed.
A classic ghost story with a creepy twist.
Great little ghost story that deals with love and loss and forgiveness.
An old fashioned ghost story. Not very scary, but has a good mystery.
Heartwarming and creepy, this book teaches important lessons about acceptance of those who are different, and also deals with survivors guilt while unraveling a decades old murder mystery.
I haven‘t read this since I was a kid. I‘m about a third of the way through and it still holds up. I love that it started out with teens wearing windbreakers at the mall. So 80‘s!
Riddled with typos that kept pulling me out of the otherwise enjoyable story.
Kicking off autumn with one of the best acknowledgements I‘ve read. #fallreads #horrorreads #spookyreads #scaryreads
Rainy day read. I‘m almost finished and it‘s underwhelming. 🤷🏻♀️
Lags a bit in the middle and is underwhelming. Well written, just not my cup of tea ☕️
Just received my copy of Bad Man! I‘m super pumped to read this!!!
Picked up a few books at GenCon, and got a cool pin from the Indianapolis Public Library.
Needed a good editing. The plot and characters were interesting, but there was way too much unnecessary exposition.
Just finished the last book in this series and... SO MANY FEELS. I think I need a dedicated tissue box whenever I read any Suzanne Collins books. 😭😭😭
The penultimate book in the Underland Chronicles. This book is a set up for the final book, unlike the earlier books that had a conclusion at the end. Great writing and lots of feels.
Well written with a jaw dropping plot twist!
Gregor continues his adventure, this time on a boat! Less predictable than the first book.
Jumping right in to the second book in the series! #reading #middlegradefantasy
Fantastic middle grade fantasy adventure. It was predictable but that didn‘t take anything away from the story. I read a ton of middle grade fantasy so maybe I‘m just good at seeing where everything is headed.
It was a rainy LitFest but I managed to find some books!
As of today I have read half of the Choose Your Own Adventure books that I own! 20 down and 20 more to go! #progress #cyoa #omgsomanybooks
Bought some more books today! I remember The Dollhouse Murders scared the shit outta me as a kid and I can‘t wait to read it again this October!
A fantastic (ha!) collection of short stories featuring castles of all kinds. These are not strictly fantasy stories. There are quite a few sci-fi, as well as horror and straight up fiction.
Yard sale find! I got this today for 25 cents!!! ❤️📚❤️📚
Picked this up today from a Little Free Library while walking my dog 🐕 I‘m planning on reading ALL the Mary Downing Hahn this October and this is one I that I didn‘t have yet!
This one is a murder mystery that leads the two protagonists to an abandoned amusement park. I used to work in an amusement park and can confirm that even non-abandoned ones are creepy when empty after dark.
