Mehso-so

This was my first Hogarth S'peare and I was hoping for big things, but this (a version of Taming of the Shrew - one of my favs) was a disappointment. Not as "individual, off-beat and funny" and it promised. Not bad, but turned out to be quite straight forward.

Some of the unfortunate editing errors in Forever Red - extra words in sentences, and a rogue quotation mark nowhere near dialogue (this happened twice - ouch). Hopefully #Marvel gets on this before the next print run.

I really wanted to love this book. I bought it to support BW & I don't regret that. But as much as Stohl details the care of the creative team in her Acknowledgements it just doesn't show. Riddled with formatting/editing errors & spotty characterisation. Glad BW gets a book though - baby steps.

Pickpick

I was lucky enough to pick this up at a comic book club meet up where three people immediately told me it was AWESOME. They were right. Strong willed 80s pre-teens, possible future and/or alien peeps, and a whole bunch of cool art. There's nothing to not love about Paper Girls.
